🌊 With CLIMATE TECH DAY 2023, we wrote history in South East Asia... 🌊

A year ago, I told you a tsunami was coming. Well here it is: $1b investment in decarbonization technologies in South East Asia alone and $71b globally last 12 months. Now, ride the tsunami with us?

This Monday, the 8th of May marked a great milestone for the region’s climate tech scene & AtlasCapital!

🌱 Organized as an inaugural event to announce the South East Asia Pacific Climate Tech Coalition, aiming to gather the region’s Corporate Venture Capitals, Climate Tech VCs, and Family Offices that believe — like us — that solving the climate change issue with technology is the largest business opportunity of our time.

​✌️ Together, we successfully introduced the category of « Climate Tech » to the region with one of the first - Climate Tech Only - conferences in SEA where solutions and actions (with dollar numbers) were celebrated and real commitments are made (we are walking the talk!).

🔥 May 8th was accidentally also the hottest day in South East Asia (52 degreeeeeeeeeeeeees)… After which, the needs for climate adaptation and decarbonizing solutions for our cities are pretty much an obvious investment thesis (at least - isolating your building with heat-absorbing painting? Getting a better HVAC to reduce aircon bills?) and we hope more people will be a part of the solution. We need to mainstream climate change. Please continue to help us spread the word; we need support from everyone, not just investors or corporations but everyday citizens who are also the consumers that can push forward the demand for change.

🎯​ We scored 170+ guests with nearly 70% of investors (CVCs, Angels, Family Offices) and people stayed to do networking 1.5h after the end of the event. We literally had to kick out some of the largest family offices in the country… there is a need to facilitate these types of conversations more often and with your support, we will!

🧑‍🚀​ 20+ speakers showed us what the future could look like for Clean energy abundance, low carbon mobility, clean air & finally Net Zero and climate resilient cities, which is the thesis of Atlas Capital’s fund, but also the thesis shared with other VCs & CVCs that are joining our coalition to together mobilize $1b for investment, technology transfer, and commercialization in the region.

🌏​ Together, on May 8th, we have sent a message to the world: 

​-by stepping up, and entering the age of the climate technologies Industrial Revolution, South East Asia will not anymore be left behind. 

​-by the number of its powerful conglomerates looking to find their next S-curves in cleantech, South East Asia have the resources to walk the talk 

​-by the establishment of a collaborating ecosystem, a coalition to share deal flow, insights, and connecting opportunities to build new markets across borders, the region now has a chance to participate in the global dialogue of decarbonization.
