Dear fellow investors,

There is a lot of noise out there about Elon Musk, wring checks for Twitter that his myth can’t cash. But the reason we all idolize Elon is that he supposedly is the savior of us all, by "having Tesla “accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy”. And maybe also because SpaceX is supposed to put people on Mars and help humanity become multi-planetary.

Let’s cancel the one-man shows

Well I say, this is a little bit much for one man, isn’t it? I mean that could be definitely a lot of stress and high risk to bet the house on one guy to save humanity from climate change, and maybe the world needs a couple more heroes.

Wouldn’t it be better if the world had 1,000,000 Elon Musk, “accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy”? Well, welcome to Atlas Society’s new mission statement, and now you can get to help us rising from 100 to 1,000,000…

During the past year, I have talked with hundreds of exceptional individuals, creating and investing in what will be the future of what we drive, communicate with, eat, and can do, I had the chance to video interview some of them here.

Now let me tell you something: that’s not everyday but it feels damn great sometimes to know that you are at the right place, with the right people, doing the right things.

There is a dopamine spike that hit you when you wake up in the morning and you know that yesterday you have been investing time, money or simply energy, trying to make the world better by participating solving the climate change problem by accelerating the transition to sustainable energy and regenerating our planet.

Do the right thing

Well recently, lots of wealthy people teamed up with normal people and wagecucks (like me) to put in the air $1.03 trillion US dollars of cryptocurrencies as of Nov. 26, 2021. That’s almost precisely the type of money that has also been invested in companies working on adapting our infrastructures to sustainable energy and regenerating our planet with zero carbon industries. And it seems like the bet has been more profitable for investors of climate tech companies (2368% growth over the period) than for us, cryptobros all combined (21% growth over the period):

One more thing: when you invest $1000 in crypto, you are basically burning 10 trees. Are you good with this? Being vegan or buying a Tesla not gonna save your soul mate.

Don’t get me wrong, I bought a lot of cryptos too! But I’m now working out my redemption plan, as we all should.

Now you gonna ask me, why aren’t there more individuals, rational economic agents investing their penny into climate tech companies? Well, I will answer you that it is very hard. In fact, as you know if you are reading this newsletter and working in the investment space: usually only accredited investors can be invited to invest in private market deals by becoming LPs of venture capital funds.
